“Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things”
Sound of Music fans, you get this. Good Morning! Finally, I have woken up in the comfort of my own bed after a wonderful little getaway to Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida. I am completely exhausted but grateful for the fun adventures I had (Disney World and Universal Studios post to come). I wake up this morning feeling excited for my future. As I soak up each new day with gratitude I am reminded of a few of my favorite things that keep me moving forward. Pictured above and listed below you will find them.
In The Company of Women Book
Pictured above, underneath my Instax Mini 9 camera is a book titled “In The Company of Women”. It is a book of inspiration and advice from over 100 Makers, Artists, and Entrepreneurs. These women are strong and inspiring. They’ve failed, succeeded, and have pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones. This is one of my new favorite books because it generates a desire to innovate what I want out of life.
My sister bought me a dream box for Christmas. The idea is to write down your dreams on a piece of paper, put it inside the box, hold it tight every night, and believe with all your heart that it is so. If you follow steps 1-3, your dream will come true. I was born a dreamer. I believe you can never have too many dreams. I’m a day dreamer, a vivid night dreamer, and the definition of an idealist. Follow your dreams no matter how insane they may sound to other people. Anything is possible if you just believe.
I have found comfort in a cup of tea. I have at least one cup of tea each day. Tea has many health benefits that I don’t know but I know they exist. I don’t think there is a tea out there that I don’t like. Recently, I have found a special place in my heart for Fortnum & Mason teas. They are to die for.
My passport is nothing more than a symbol of my love for traveling. I can’t express how much I love traveling. My eyes are brightened by the beauty of this world because of it. In the future I will make an effort to travel out of the country. I have the passport, why not use it? Where should I go first? Bali? Iceland? Let me know what you think.
Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 Camera
I know an Instax isn’t a Polaroid camera but it’s the closest camera I could get that I know how to use and wouldn’t break at the touch of a button. My instant camera makes me feel like a vintage vixen using an adorable, modern Polaroid camera. If anyone has tips or tricks when using this camera, my arms are wide open to them.
“When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad”
