My best kept beauty secrets for your aesthetics are here to change your life. I’m not a big beauty expert or a platinum beauty guru but I have acquired a few tricks over the years that make me feel great about myself.

 

Use coconut oil instead of teeth whitener

From my own personal experience, teeth whiteners from the store or prescribed from the dentist can wear the enamel off your teeth leaving your teeth sensitive to hot and cold items. Put one tablespoon of solid coconut oil in your mouth, swish it around until it’s in liquid form and continue to swish for five minutes. This is an all natural, inexpensive alternative to those processed teeth whiteners.

Be sure to drink the correct amount of water for your body each day

Drinking water helps clear your skin complexion, flush out toxins, increase your energy, and more. I strive to drink a gallon of water everyday. There are daily water intake calculators online to tell you how many ounces you should be drinking each day for your body. Once you get passed the “peeing every five seconds” phase, you’ll see the incredible benefits.

Pluck your eyebrows, don’t get them waxed

Sorry estheticians, waxing my eyebrows hasn’t done wonders for my thick, furry brows. Day to day, I pluck my eyebrows with tweezers and have found this most effective for keeping them full. I do get my eyebrows threaded once every three months to maintain shape since my eyebrows are capable of turning into caterpillars. Overall, plucking is the best.

Invest in a good shampoo

I have thick, long hair. I used to buy shampoo from my local grocery store/drugstore. During my years of working in a hair salon, I learned the importance of investing in a good shampoo that cleans well. The grocery store/drugstore shampoos are usually expired and don’t always clean your hair thoroughly since these stores don’t specialize in hair care. From investing in a good shampoo, I only need to wash my hair once every three days.

Exfoliate your face 2-3 times a week

Dull skin and dead skin cells happen. It has taken me years to discover that exfoliating my face needed to be a part of my weekly regime. I used to exfoliate everyday but that made my skin super dry. Exfoliating your face 2-3 times a week is the perfect amount to have a healthy glow.

Get a manicure every two weeks

Getting a manicure isn’t solely about having beautifully shaped, colorful finger nails. A manicure keeps the whole of your finger nails clean. From the trimming of your cuticles, down to the dirt under your finger nails, manicures make those hands look gorgeous.
