My New Year’s Resolutions for 2018
I always feel disappointed at the end of each year when I reevaluate the New Year’s Resolutions I set for myself in the beginning of the year. When I am unable to workout 5 times a week, read 2 books a month, or spend a maximum of $100 on clothes a month (shopping addict), for a whole 365 days, it feels devastating. I question my dedication, motivation, discipline, among many other things. In a few days I will not have set specific, unrealistic resolutions for myself. This year, I am focusing on my inner beauty and strength. Below you will find my new year’s resolutions for 2018.
My first resolution is to live everyday fearless. I’ve recently become too aware of how fearful I’ve been living my life. Everything would be completely different if I wasn’t living fearful on most days. Fear of rejection, judgement, failure, and the unknown. Fear has made itself a little too cozy in my life. This year I am kicking it to the curb.
I have an extremely hard time comprehending reading material and staying focused for long periods of time. I’m the reader that needs to reread a sentence four times to fully comprehend what I am reading, it is such a pain in my ass. Over the years, it has affected how I educate myself. I would avoid homework in school, read half a book, overlook learning possibilities around me. This year I will absorb the opportunities around me; read newspaper articles, finish books, talk to wise people, and see the opportunity in everything.
Be Positive and Thankful
I strive to be a positive person. My words are positive on social media, I make sure of that. The reality is my thoughts are more negative than positive. I tend to see what is missing in my life instead of having gratitude for what I have in my life. It is an exhausting way to think when the world and the people in it carry endless beauty.
Believe in myself
I tend to doubt myself when it comes to the things I know I am capable of. Doubt creeps up on me and I never live to my fullest potential. This year I will push myself beyond what I am capable of doing. I will believe in myself the way I believe in each of you. Follow those dreams of yours!
